Port Blair, Sept. 03: In the run up to Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to 01.01.2020 as the qualifying date, a training programme for BLOs, BLO Supervisors, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, IT related staff and CSC Operators of North & Middle Andaman was held on 02nd September, 2019 at 10.00 AM in the Zilla Parishad Community Hall, Mayabunder in the presence of Shri K. R. Meena, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands.
In his address to all the election related officials, the Chief Electoral Officer briefed about the new initiatives taken by the Election Commission of India to ensure the health of the Electoral Rolls. Further, he also delineated the multiple platforms available with the electors for their self- verification as well as the duties of the field staff thereof and urged BLOs to get well acquainted with the BLO App for all their activities and field visits.
A Power Point Presentation was made by Shri Abdul Rasheed, Deputy Manager (IT) wherein all the aspects of National Voters Service Portal and BLO App was presented and discussed.
The training programme ended with vote of thanks by Shri Awanish Kumar, IAS, District Election Officer, North & Middle Andaman to the Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands and all the officials present in the programme.
