Billyground, Sept 03: Yesterday, an especial Gram Sabha meeting was conducted by the Pradhan, Harinagar Gram Panchayat of Middle Andaman region at Zilla Parishad Vegetable Market of Billyground.
The objective of the meeting was to spread awareness among Gram Sabha members about the water conservation. Pradhan Mr. Uttam Mondal welcomed the Gram Sabha members and govt. officials present in the meeting and also highlighted in detail about the mission of the Govt. projects to conserve water keeping in view the future of the Nation.
Besides the Pradhan Mr. Bain, BDO, Mayabunder and officials from Agriculture Department very categorically focused on the need and importance of water conservation and various schemes of Govt. On the other hand a social worker of the panchayat Mr. Manoranjan Mondal alleged that some fishermen of the area are using dangerous chemicals to preserve fish in the region, which is a serious threat to public health. Pradhan assured to raise the matter infront of DC and other concerned departments.
