Port Blair, September 1: On completion of tenure, Commodore Ashutosh Ridhorkar, VSM, Naval Officer-in-Charge (Andaman & Nicobar) and Naval Component Commander handed over the baton to his successor Commodore Deepak Bhatia on 31st August 2019. The ceremony was marked by the Change of Command Parade held at Naval Wharf Haddo. The parade witnessed the incoming NOIC (A&N) inspect the Guard of Honour. Commodore Ashutosh Ridhorkar’s tenure saw a myriad of operations and exercises, including the International event MILAN 2018. He proceeds to Mumbai as Commanding Officer of INS Angre, the Indian Navy’s premier shore establishment. As NAVCC, Commodore Deepak Bhatia assumes the charge of Operational Authority of all Naval Units including three Naval Air Stations in the Islands. Additionally, as Naval Officer in charge, he will ensure administrative functioning of all store establishments on the Islands.
