Port Blair, Aug 07: The Assistant Commission of Great Nicobar, Dr. Mukesh Kumar who played a major role today to ensure that passengers of MV Nicobar do not face inconvenience after they were disembarked from MV Nicobar, following detection of a pinhole, told Andaman Sheekha this evening that everything in under control at Campbell Bay.
When asked how many passengers refused to disembark the ship, he said that all passengers have already disembarked the ship and the ship sailed back for Port Blair at 7.30 PM.
He said that Health Department and Police unit of Great Nicobar have been instructed to take special care of the stranded passengers at Campbell Bay.
It is learnt that some passengers who had minor health issued were sent to nearby Hospital by the AC. Police team was also kept standby for the security of passengers. Meanwhile it is learnt that the concerned Panchayat of the area had arranged food for the passengers.
