Port Blair, August 5: The CISF unit port of Port Blair conducted Jal Shakti Abhiyan on rain water harvesting and water conservation. The Abhiyan included awareness March with banner to Save Water, Water Conversation & Rain Water Harvesting; Rain water harvesting pits & Ground water recharge site at CISF Barrack area were also constructed; Renovation/ cleaning of traditional water Tanks/Well near Seaman Hostel, Haddo done with help of local people; An awareness class/Lecture regarding Jal Shakti Abhiyan has also been conducted among the students of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Haddo, Port Blair.
All the programmes were conducted under the supervision of Shri. Kamal Kumar Singh, Asstt. Commandant, CISF Unit Port of Port Blair.
Personnel of CISF Unit Port of Port Blair not only participated in Jal Shakti Abhiyan but also appealed people to join the initiative.
