Port Blair, Aug 22: The congress party paid heartfelt tribute to the former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi on his 68th Birth Anniversary on 20th August, 2012 at 10.00 AM.
Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee garlanded the portrait in front of Senior leaders, members, workers, staff, college students and supporters.
Further Mr Sharma administered the Sadbhavana Pledge to the gatherings. “We being the members of the civic society must always accept the words of honour (Sadbhavana Pledge) from our soul and utilize all the words of the pledge in our day to day works. Under no circumstances we should be revengeful to anybody. In our dreams even we must not hurt, torture or criticize anybody,” Mr. Sharma said.
Mr Sharma then flagged off the Sadbhavana rally from the Gandhi Bhavan to the statue of Rajiv Gandhi at Water sports complex which was attended by more than five hundred people.
Fruits and sweets were distributed to the orphanage of Dairy farm, AIR Road and Prothrapur.
