Port Blair, July 12: The General Secretary of Andaman Mopla Service Organisation (AMSO) and the Joint Action Forum (JAF) Mr. Abdul Siddiqui has written a letter to the Director General of Police and demanded action against a police officer of CID branch, who reportedly ill-treated him and misbehaved with him in name of searching.
According to Mr. Siddiqui, the incident took place yesterday when he was coming out of the Port Blair airport after a Mainland visit but at the exit gate he was intercepted by the CID officer and his baggage were searched in such a manner as if he is a terrorist. He said that he was intercepted by 5 -6 CID officials and sniffer dogs. Not only this, when the team got nothing from the possession of Mr. Siddiqui, they refused to give anything kind of receipt in written.
Mr. Siddiqui in his letter to DGP mentioned that the kind of treatment meted out to him is totally unacceptable even though he was cooperating with the search.
