Port Blair, Aug 19: Recent visit of a high level committee of Pondicherry University has shattered dreams of Administration to run second shift in Jawaharlal Nehru Rajakiya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM). Highly placed sources have confirmed that the committee of Pondicherry university have raised question over the proposed evening shift of JNRM, as for that the college neither have adequate staffs nor those posts of lecturers have been sanctioned by Administration. For evening Shift JNRM requires 39 lecturers and these posts have not been filled yet.
Not only this, the committee have halted the admission of nearly 300 students in the first year of MGGC on the ground that the college neither have sufficient qualified faculties nor a full time principal.
On the line of Andaman Sheekha’s reports, published in many occasions in past, the Committee observed that since last two years the Administration is running the show of Mahatma Gandhi Government College of Mayabunder by appointing an administrative office as principal incharge of the college.
It seems that things may backfire and the present situation may also lead to cancellation of affiliation of Mayabunder College. Hope the Administration will wake up on time and take all preventive measures to protect the future of 300 odd students of MGGC and also to keep the dreams of evening shift of JNRM ,alive.
