Diglipur, June 25: In a joint raid conducted by teams of PS Aberdeen and PS Diglipur today at Diglipur around 600 bottles of codeine based cough syrup and huge number of tablets of psychotropic substance have been seized from a pharmacy of Diglipur.
As per details, SI Jeevan from PS Aberdeen and SI Balinder Singh (In-Charge, PS Diglipur) conducted the raid under the close supervision of Dy.S.P N & M, Mr. Sukanta Vallav. Earlier similar raids were conducted in Port Blair also and after those raids the police had got leads that some codeine based cough syrup and tablets of psychotropic substance have been sent to Diglipur also and hence this raid was planned.
Andaman Sheekha’s Rangat reporter reported that a similar raid was conducted today at Rangat as well but nothing was found after the raid.
