Port Blair, June 25: Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA), Andaman & Nicobar command has been constantly working towards the betterment of the islands & society. After the successful implementation of segregated waste management system wherein they collect segregated waste from almost 20,000 defence residents and recycle it to drastically reduce the waste being handed over to PBMC, they have now extended the facility to civilians & hotels on the islands.
As part of their outreach activity they have adopted orphanages & old age homes. Seva Niketan at dairy Farm is one such organisation wherein DWWA provides their support involving monthly needs in terms of ration, toiletries etc.
On 24th June 2019, DWWA representatives visited Seva Niketan for their monthly visit and spent time with the children residence. Along with other items like grocery & rations toiletries they also donated an industrial gas stove for their kitchen.
