Campbell Bay, June 24: Residents of Gandhi Nagar, Great Nicobar today staged dharna and road block under the leadership of Mr. Prahalad Singh, Up Pradhan, Laxmi Nagar, Manjula Lakra, Pramukh, Campbell Bay against poor mobile network in the region.
The protest began at around 6.00 AM, during which two buses were obstructed by the public. Later the Assistant Commissioner of Great Nicobar reached the spot and assured the people that faulty equipments, which in anyway, were reaching Campbell Bay today, will be replaced.
After assurances the buses were allowed to go but the protest continued. At around 11.00 AM the JE of BSNL got the equipments and rectified the problem after which at around 5.30 PM the protest was withdrawn when the poor mobile network was resolved completely. Around 25 to 30 people took part in the Protest.
