Billyground, June 24: The Pradhans and other PRI members of Harinagar, Basantipur, Swadesh Nagar and Shivapuram panchayat, under the banner of an NGO, Green Island Foundation today jointly organized a public meeting at Billyground Bazaar against alleged non-responsive attitudes of Administration towards the various crucial problems and demands of the public of the region.
During the meeting the speakers said that the problems of the region were placed infront of Administration for decades by PRI members but the no one paid any heed.
Therefore, all the PRI members and citizen of the said panchayats have decided to launch agitation against the Administration to press those demands.
Today’s meeting was organized as an wake up call for the Administration and the speakers mentioned that if the demands of the people are not fulfilled they will block the Andaman Trunk Road.
The demands of public of the region are related to poor health facilities, erratic power supply, alleged favoritism in distribution of timber from Betapur Sawmill, Poor services of BSNL, deteriorating condition of health and education.
