Port Blair, Apr 16: A lady sustained serious injuries after being hit by an unknown vehicle near Junglighat petrol pump this afternoon. According to details, the driver of the unidentified vehicle escaped from the scene after hitting the lady.
The lady with head and leg injuries, was left behind bleeding. Later a youth and alert citizen namely, Mr. M.A.Sajid, R/o of Junglighat in no time took the lady to the GB Pant Hospital and admitted her.
While talking to the Andaman Sheekha Mr. M.A.Sajid alleged that after the accident he tried the number of Police Control Room but due to network issues, he was unable to get any help. Finally he took an auto-rickshaw and shifted the injured lady to G B Pant Hospital where she was admitted for treatment.
