Port Blair, Apr 08: Mr. Zakir Hussain, the owner of the dinghy, which was hit and destroyed by a big vessel on Saturday night, today requested the Administration to do justice in his case.
On Saturday night, while four fishermen were fishing on his dinghy near Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island), the dinghy was hit by a bigger vessel, following which the dinghy capsized and the four fishermen somehow survived with the help of an Ice Box and were later rescued on Sunday morning by another fishing dinghy.
While talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. Zakir Hussain, a resident of Dignabaad area of Port Blair, today said that even after his dinghy was destroyed his complaints were not heard by the Assistant Director of Fisheries Department, he further alleged that the Assistant Director was inattentive towards his complaints.
He said that his family was dependent on the dinghy for survival and demanded that those who are injured in this accident should also be given compensation.
“All fishermen, who were onboard the dinghy, sustained injuries during the accident. One of the fishermen was on the verge of total collapse when he was rescued by others. Who will compensate them? Who will pay for my loss?” questioned Mr. Zakir Hussain.
Meanwhile, it has not been established yet, which vessel had actually hit the dinghy. Police is investigating the matter very closely.
