Port Blair, Apr 07: On 06.04.2019 Smt. Shalini Singh, IPS, IGP (L&O) along with Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, SP (D) SA and Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, DANIPS, SDPO (B/Flat) visited Police Station Ograbraj for inspection and assessment of the Election Preparedness. During the visit, the IGP (L&O) briefed the staff at Police Station Ograbraj about the provisions of Model Code of Conduct and emphasized on their implementation.
In addition, the IGP (L&O) discussed the pre-poll law & order arrangements, security of the EVMs & poll staff etc. She also advised the staff to be vigilant and keep a watch on the illegal movement of any cash, liquor, gift articles etc. She briefed the staff to be polite, impartial and professional in the discharge of their duties.
She highlighted the role of free election in a healthy democracy which is an essential requirement for creation of a fair society. In order to ensure fairness in election, all types of corrupt practices aimed at influencing the voters should be prevented and acted against, she added.
