Port Blair, Apr 07: On 04.04.2019, Mr. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Traffic/Security) visited Shaheed Dweep Island to take stock of the Election Preparedness for the ensuing Lok Sabha Election, 2019 which will be held on 11.04.2019. During the visit, all the staffs of Police Station Shaheed Dweep were briefed about the significance of implementation of Model Code of Conduct and the do’s and don’ts to be followed by the police staffs for ensuring free and fair election.
Moreover, the PS staff was advised to be vigilant and keep a watch on the unlawful acts such as transportation of cash, liquor, gift items, daily need items etc. and explained about the pre-poll law and order arrangements, security of the EVMs & poll staff. Superintendent of Police (Traffic/Security) briefed the police staff of Shaheed Dweep to be polite, impartial and professional in the discharge of their duties.
