Port Blair, Aug 10: The intensive eviction drive by the Tehsil team could clear most of the footpath/common approach in and around Port Blair township. The unauthorised occupants on roadsides and footpath were given ample opportunity to shift their shed/shop etc.
It has come to notice that unauthorized structures/sheds etc. are once again coming up on community land/footpath etc. It is planned to intensify the eviction drive once again to prevent such unauthorised activities.
All those who are unauthorizedly occupying Govt. land, specified for community use, roadsides and footpaths etc. are asked to remove all such structures on or before 12/08/2012 failing which the same shall be removed by the Tehsii Encroachment Eviction Team.
Those trying to interfere with the eviction drive shall be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.

It is also made clear that the action on the part of the District
Administration is in the larger interest of the general public and as such the active support of the local media will go a long way in conveying the message.
