Port Blair, Mar 22: A lady of Prem Nagar area, who was attacked by a man near cremation ground of Prem Nagar on Wednesday, succumbed to her injuries by 10 PM on the same day.
According to reports the accused C H Venket, S/o Late C H Krishna, a resident of Prem Nagar reportedly attacked the lady, Mrs. Papamma, 35 years, as he was having some grudge on the lady. Sources said the lady and the men had a spat few days back, following which this lady and a few others had slapped him.
The victim, Mrs. Papamma was admitted in G B Pant Hospital after the attack, where she died at 10.00 PM.
After death of the lady, a murder case was registered against the accused and immediately the accused was arrested. Next day he was produced to court, from where he was sent to Judicial Custody.
