Port Blair, Mar 18: The District Election Officer, Nicobar, Dr. Monica Priyadarshini flagged off the Election Express today (Mar.18, 2019), from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Car Nicobar. The Election Express will be travelling to all villages and create awareness amongst the voters of Car Nicobar about the importance of voting. Similar Election Express will be launched in all Islands of Campbell Bay and Nancowry group as well.
Dr. Priyadarshini highlighted the importance of creating awareness among the people on voting and elections. Under the directions of the Election Commission of India, various Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral participation (SVEEP) programme and activities were being carried out by the District Administration, Nicobar and the Election Express was one such activity.
