Port Blair, Mar 18: The nomination process for the General Elections 2019 for LokSabha has started from 18th March 2019 and will continue up to 25th March 2019.During this period, candidates can file the nominations in the RO’s office at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), Port Blair. According to the directions of the Election Commission of India, South Andaman Police has made necessary security arrangements around the RO’s office. In order to avoid inconvenience to the candidates they are advised to follow the route from Bengali Club towards the RO’s office and park their vehicles in IP&T parking. As per the Model Code of Conduct, only three vehicles can be permitted to come within the 100 metre radius of the RO’s office and only 5 persons, including the candidate himself, can enter the RO’s office for filing nomination.
Therefore, all candidates are advised to follow the above instructions and various directions of Election Commission of India and maintain order in the RO’s office during the process of filing nomination. They are also advised to intimate the concerned Police Stations in advance about their schedule of filing nomination so that necessary coordination may be ensured. Necessary permissions for use of vehicles and rally, if any, may also be taken beforehand, in a press release said Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
