One arrested on kidnapping charges of minor girl from Middle Andaman area

Baratang, Mar 08: One youth has been picked up from Dairy Farm area of Port Blair yesterday on the charges of Kidnapping of a minor girl of Middle Andaman, later he was arrested by PS Baratang.
As per report, a minor girl was missing from Middle Andaman since 6th March 2019. Following which the Baratang police unit took all possible steps to trace out the girl.
Later during investigation it was learnt that the girl had gone towards Port Blair in the morning convoy from Baratang to Port Blair on 6th March 2019.
Soon the Baratang Police unit took the help of Cyber cell of A & N police and PS Aberdeen. After constant efforts the girl was located at Dairy Farm area with the accused, Prabhu Sai Munda, who is painter by profession and was in love with the minor girl. The 20 year old accused was in constant touch with the minor girl over phone, it is learnt.
Later the accused was picked up by a team of PS Aberdeen and the girl was rescued. The girl was later handed over to family members while the accused, Prabhu Sai Munda was brought to PS Baratang where, as per details, he was arrested on the charges of Kidnapping (as the girl was missing for more than 24 hours, which is considered, kidnapping as per law).
