N&M Andaman, Feb 12: “KISHAN MELA” has been organised at Billyground from 5th Feb to 10th Feb, 2019. In this connection, on the 4th day of this Mela i.e. 09.02.2019 a Megha Kishan sammelan was also held. In this Kishan Sammelan a good number of farmers (men & women) participated. On the occasion Dr. B.L. Kashinath, Dr. Scientist and Head, CIARI, Nimbudera explained how farmers can increase their agro products and income can be doubled by adopting the neo scientific methods of farming and in cooperation with CIARI, NIMBUDERA.
He told that the Scientists of different subjects are always ready to extend their support to the farmers’ community. He further added that a cold storage is necessary for the cultivators of this region as it will helpto store the excess produces, which could be sold in off season and it will also increase the financial strength of the farmers.
Dr. Parag Deori, Sr. Vetrinary doctor, Basantipur, Mrs. Rekha, Sr. Inspector, Agriculture, Mayabunder very vividly explained the various schemes of Govt. Of India for the farmers. They urged the farmer to avail the benefit of all those schemes. During this occasion farmers brought huge quantity of their products at Mela. The farmers community expressed their happiness for inspiring them by arranging such Mela and giving opportunity to make conversation with experts and scientist.
