Campbell Bay, Jan 28: Mr. Manoj Kumar, a 22 year old youth of Rajiv Nagar, Great Nicobar reportedly drowned in sea yesterday late afternoon near Laxman beach.
According to reports the youth, a private labourer by profession had gone for fishing with four other kids of his area, but while coming back Mr. Manoj Kumar and one other kid jumped into sea to cross an inundated area of the Laxman Beach.
As per reports due to high waves, both of them were pulled into deep sea. When other three kids started shouting for help some people from nearby area came for rescue and saved the kid but by that time Mr. Manoj Kumar had gone missing.
Sources said that police, Coast Guard and PMF teams are searching for Manoj in the area but till now the body has not been found. Further details are awaited.
