Port Blair, Jan 27: A fire was reported from Bambooflat Brindaban this afternoon at around 1:30 PM, from a semi-pucca house belonging to Smt. Vidyawati Devi, W/o Gore Lall, R/o Brindraban under Ferrargunj Tehsil. The house was completely gutted in the fire accident, it is reported.
As per reports, the fire service received information about the fire at around 1.35 PM and within minutes, Fire Tenders reached the spot and by 2:51 PM the fire was brought under total control. According to fire brigade sources the cause of fire was short circuit.
Fire tenders from Ferrargunj reportedly reached the spot in no time and doused the fire by using Fire tenders and with help of nearby Nalla they able to get continue supply of water. There is no report of any injuries as no one was present in the house during the fire.
Eye witnesses told Andaman Sheekha that the incident could have taken an ugly shape but due to prompt response of Fire Services team, under leadership of ASI Bashir the fire was brought under control before it could spread further.
