Port Blair Dec 09: Following specific complaints against eight residents of Diglipur for allegedly having fake Indian ID cards, the CID unit initiated investigation and interrogated seven people, while one person did not turn up for interrogation.
Alleging them as Bangladeshi, specific complaints had reached CID unit recently after which this investigation began and all eight people were asked to visit Port Blair.
Highly placed sources told Andaman Sheekha that three out of these eight had earlier accepted that they are from Bangladesh but later during interrogation they changed their statement and maintained that they are from West Bengal. All eight persons reportedly have all Indian ID documents, including Indian Passport. The CID unit is presently verifying the mainland addresses of these people.
