Port Blair, Nov 19: The Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Mr. Sanjib Kumar Mandal along with Mr. Krishan Kumar, Secretary (APWD), Mr. M.S Subramaniam, SE,CC-1, Mr. U.K Singh, S.E (PRI) Mr. Cozhi, EE (RCD), Mr. Dilip Kumar EE, CD-III, Mr. Subir Chander, ZPM, Mr. Mohd Safiq, Pradhan Ms. Suhara Bibi, Samity Member, Up Pradhan, Sarpanch and other PRI members of Mithakhari Gram Panchayat and Engineers made a visit to the rural areas of South Andaman and inspected the ongoing developmental projects on 17/11/2018.
The team visited VKZPV, Port Mout and finalized the site for construction of Auditorium and staff quarters. Considering the bad condition of road, the Adhyaksh suggested for immediate construction of State Highway from Ograbraj junction to Shaitankhari. The site for proposed bridge from Mithakhari to Minnie bay, which is under consideration of the A&N Administration, was also visited at Mithakhari site where the Secretary (PWD) stated that the work shall be expedited after discussing the same in the HMAC meeting shortly. The Adhyaksh also suggested for construction of two traffic islands at Ograbraj and Tushnabad junction respectively besides construction of village road from ATR near Mr. V.K Sayyed Alvi’s house to Mr. Ponnachan’s house. The team also inspected the ongoing work of construction of Community Hall at Tsunami Shelter, Mithakhari and Sluice Gate at Hathitapu where the instructions were given for early completion of the works.
