Port Blair, Nov 19: As a part of celebration of ‘DhanwantaryJayanti/ ‘3rd National Ayurveda Day’ with the theme ‘Ayurveda for Public Health’ Directorate of Health Services and A & N State AYUSH Society jointly organized a various activities in Car Nicobar Island. An Ayurveda Health & Awareness Camp was organized in Malacca village, Car Nicobar. Around 35 patients were benefitted.
A Run for Health – ”Ayurveda Daud Swasthya Ki Aur” was organized from Community Hall, Tamaloo village to BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar via Gandhi Chowk. The Run was flagged off by Dr. Anwar Moosa, Medical Superintendent, BJR Hospital.
The week long activities concluded with the valedictory function held in the conference hall of BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar. Dr. Anwar Moosa, Medical Superintendent was the Chief Guest of the function. At the outset, Dr. Kirtika Chander, MO (Homoeo) welcomed the gathering. Dr. A. Sudarshan, MO (Ayurveda), through his ppt presentation gave a brief description about the origin, evolution, fundamental theories and treatment principles of Ayurveda.
In his address, the M.S, BJR Hospital commended the efforts of AYUSH for various activities and appealed the people to adopt the principles of Ayurveda in day to day life. The winners of the ‘Run for Health’ were awarded with certificates and cash prize. The function ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. A. Sudarshan, MO (Ayurveda).
The entire celebration was well coordinated by Dr. Jolly Precilla, MO (Homoeo, RBSK), Dr.Kirtika Chander, MO (Homoeo), Smti.Yeshu Mary, PHN and all the staffs of BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar.
