Port Blair, Nov 11: The Bangla Joint Action Committee, Andaman & Nicobar Islands today organized a Bangla Sammelan at Bhatu Basti Junction, South Andaman from 2.00 PM onward. Thousands of people gathered at attended the programme at Bhatu Basti Junction this evening, despite bad weather.
Several Bangali intellectuals addressed the conference and spoke about maintaining unity among people of Bengali origin and to raise voice if they are targeted for being Bangali.
The main agenda of the Sammelan was, among others, chalking out a programme for celebrating the 123rd Birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Basu on 23rd January 2019.
