Port Blair, July 21: When government breaks the rules, what are innocent and law abiding public entitled to do about it? When law-makers break laws and give clean chit to law breakers what common man could expect from the entire system.
Andaman Sheekha had carried a news item on 19, July 2012, highlighting how the rules regarding High Security Registration Plate were openly violated by a Raj Niwas Vehicle.
It was expected by General Public that the Raj Niwas will show highest level of discipline and set an example in these Islands by taking suitable action for this negligence. It was also expected that the Police Department will show some courage and impose challan on the Raj Niwas vehicle but on the contrary special HSRP fixation session was arranged by the Transport Department for Raj Niwas Vehicle on Saturday at Port Blair, to hush up the matter.
According to reports, more than five vehicles of Raj Niwas were taken to an unknown location, where the HSRPs were fixed in just one day that too on Saturday. The Administration must clarify why such special treatment was offered to those Raj Niwas Vehicles, which did not have HSRP.
This kind of attitude only shows that rules and regulations are only made for innocent people while the Government Departments always remains immune to law.
