
Port Blair, Oct 16: During a meeting with the Chief Secretary today, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. Andaman today discussed the issues in connection with ensuing visit of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minster of India and suggested to include some agenda points which are to be considered during ensuing visit of the Prime Minister of India to this territory.
The issues are laying of Foundation Stone for optical fiber cable from Chennai to Port Blair; The cost of Project is Rs.1232 Cr.; Laying of foundation stone of 50 MW LNG Gas based power plant to be set up at Hope Town, Ferrargunj Tehsil; Releasing Postal Stamp and Coins on the memory of National Hero/ freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who hosted the Indian Nation Flag in first time in the Gymkhana Ground now named as Netaji Stadium on 30th December,1943 i.e. four years before of formal independence on 15th Agust,1947; Implementation of the recommendation of Vivek Rae’s Committee so far concerned to regularization of excess land under occupation of pre-61 settlers; Issue of Sugar under subsidized rate and restoration of quantum of rice to the APL families; Resettlement package for repatriated Srilankans tribal area Katchal to revenue area which is pending since 2003; Providing basics immunities i.e. the Solar Light and water Supply to the Post,78 Forest Encroachers with certain conditions till shifting to the allotted revenue area.
