Port Blair, August 22: On 13.08.2018 a written complaint, was received from Principal, GSSS, R.KPur in PS Hut Bay regarding theft of 2 CCTV Cameras from the school building during the night. A case vide Crime No. 87/18 U/s 380/457 IPC was registered at PS Hut Bay against unknown and immediately police team headed SI M. Saravanan, SHO and comprising of SI Subramani, I/c OP R.K, HC/2335 Binod Kr. Mistry, PC/1383 O. Shabir Aziz, PC/731 Naresh Ch. Sarkar, PC/872 S.P. Pradeep, PC/3020 AshalataBala, PC/2803 Khemraj, PC/1314 K.A Siddique and HG/684 DebrataMondal was formed and it swung into action.
The team developed criminal intelligence and after great efforts arrested one SupankarHowaladar (19) yrs. R/o R.K Pur, Little Andaman and also apprehended 05 juveniles on 16/08/2018 and recovered the stolen articles from their possession. The adult accused is being produced before the Hon’ble Court of CJM at Port Blair and the apprehended Juveniles in Conflict with Law have been handed over to their parents with the direction to attend the Juvenile Court at Port Blair. One of the accused involved in the crime is at large.
The investigation carried out so far reveals that these boys used to indulge in illegal activities around the school complex at night hours and to hide their activities they stole the CCTV Cameras. The Police team will be suitably rewarded.
