Car Nicobar, August 13: After assuming the charge of the Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr Devendra Pathak visited the Car Nicobar Islands on 08th August, 2018 and interacted with the Police Personnel posted in the remote islands as well as the general public of the Car Nicobar Islands.
As per reports, immediately after stepping into the Car Nicobar Islands the DGP visited the Tsunami Memorial to pay tribute. He then visited to the office of the Superintendent of Police, Car Nicobar as well as Fire Brigade, Police Radio where he interacted with the Police Personnel.
DGP Devendra Pathak also visited Mus Church where he interacted with the Tribal Community of the area. DGP Pathak later met the school children at GSSS Malacca, where he motivated the children to grow higher in their career.
As per the details available, DGP Pathak then moved to Nancowry Island where he went in a routine visit to the Police Station and Police Chowki.
Sources said that due to certain unknown reasons DGP Pathak cancelled his plan of visiting Great Nicobar and he returned back to Port Blair from Car Nicobar on 9th August. The DGP was accompanied by the Superintendent of Police, Headquarter.
This visit of the DGP has brought a lot of confidence among the Police Personnel of the area as well as the public and all are in the hope to see some positive change in the Police functioning of the Islands.
