Port Blair, July 29: A team of Forest Department detained two persons with one pigeon at Quarry Area, Birchgunj this morning at 10:00am, while patrolling. The hunters were identified as San Kumar Xalxo and Rajendra Ram, both learnt to be the residents of Birchgunj itself.
As per reports, the Forest Team were receiving a lot of complaints of Bird Hunting from various parts of the city following which a team constituting of Namita Ghosh, Forester, Archana Majumdar, Forester, Jai Kumar, Head Forest Guard and T Gopala Krishna, Forest Guard were continuously patrolling since last few days and today they got success in catching the two hunters. According to sources, the hunters used glue to hook these Pigeons. As per reports, both the hunters were later released on bail.
