Port Blair, July 15: The BJP unit of A & N Islands today demanded total impartiality in distribution of cycles among the students of A & N Islands.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. R Mohan the President of state BJP unit said that the A & N Administration is distributing cycles at free of cost to the Tribal boys and girls from class VIII irrespective of APL/BPL, whereas the non tribal students are being distributed such cycles on the basis of scoring 75% marks.
“Such discrimination brings jealousy in the minds of the little innocent children which is not a good sign,” he said in his letter.
Mr. Mohan requested to the Administrator to interfere into the matter and order the Education department to be impartial for all students in cycle distribution.
