Port Blair, July 22: “Andaman Nicobar Command Officers Cross Country Championship 2018-19” was organized on 21 Jul 18 over a distance of 7.5 km. The aim of the tournament was to promote physical fitness and sportsman spirit amongst the service Officers posted in the Command. A total of 05 teams participated in the tournament from ANC Headquarters, 108 Mountain Brigade, Naval Component, Air Force Component and Regional Headquarters, Coast Guard. The event was flagged off by Brigadier Gaurav Gautam, Brigade Commander, 108 Mountain Brigade from Marina Park at 0530 hrs and culminated at INS Utkrosh. The Naval Component team won Cross Country trophy for the year 2018-19. Lieutenant Arpit Sharma of Army Component completed the run in 29 minutes 36 seconds. Commodore BP Singh, CSY, Naval Ship Repair Yard (Port Blair) graced the occasion as Chief Guest and handed over the medals, certificates and trophy to the winners.
