Port Blair, June 22: In a well coordinated and joint effort of Andaman Nicobar Command, Directorate of Health Services, Police Personnel and Neil Island PRI members, a severely injured youth of Neil Island was evacuated at midnight and brought to G B Pant Hospital.
According the Pradhan of Neil Island, Mr. Ramkrishna Biswas, a youth of Neil Island sustained grievous injuries yesterday afternoon, following which he was admitted in Neil Island PHC but as his condition remained unstable, the Doctors and PRI members sent a request for evacuation of the patient to G B Pant, Hospital.
Although it was night and there is not lighting available at Neil Island a Defence Helicopter of ANC landed at Neil Island, taking great risk. Police Personnel reportedly assisted the landing by providing support of flash lights. Later at 11 PM the youth was safely evacuated and brought to G B Pant where his condition is said to be stable.
Meanwhile the Pradhan of Neil Island, Mr. Ramkrishna Biswas as expressed gratitude to the ANC, DHS and Police Department for their great support.
