Port Blair, May 28: High waves in the range of 3.5 – 5.4 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 28-05-2018 to 23:30 hours of 30-05-2018 along the west coast of Andaman Islands from Ten Degree Channel to Coco Channel. Current speeds vary between 57 – 92 cm/sec. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea during next 48 hours.
In Nicobar region, high waves in the range of 3.5 – 3.6 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 28-05-2018 to 23:30 hours of 30-05-2018 along the west coast of Nicobar Islands from Ten Degree Channel to Great Channel. Current speeds vary between 44 – 75 cm/sec. Due to strong Southwest monsoon current over Andaman sea, Strong Southwesterly wind speed between 40 and 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph and rough to very rough seas very likely along and off Andaman & Nicobar coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture in to the sea during next 48 hours.
