Port Blair, Mar 29: Large numbers of CTET qualified and eligible un-employed youths of this UT Islands are consistently approaching Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P since past two years for pursuing the matter with the Education Department to expedite the action for filling up the vacancies of PST,GTT,PGT etc available in the department.
In pursuant to that a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary in the conference hall of the Secretariat on 23.02.2018, wherein various matters including the matter of filling up the vacancies of Education Department has been also discussed and it was emphasised to give priority to fill up the entire vacancies available in Education department.
Further, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. met with the Secretary Education in his chamber in the morning of 29th March,2018 to augment the action of the Education Department for filling up the vacancies of direct recruitment post of PSTs, GTTs, PGTs and other non-teaching Posts and also for the promotion from the post of PSTs to GTTs, from GTTs to PGTs/Head Masters/vice-Principals etc.
In response to the discussion, the Secretary Education, A & N Administration has given assurance to expedite the action for filling up the entire direct recruitment and promotion posts which are laying vacant in the department.
The Secretary, Education further confirmed that the Department of Education is taking every possible efforts to modify the existing Recruitment Rules in consonance with the 7th Pay Commission Recommendation enforced from 01.01.2016 and to fill up the vacancies of direct recruitment and promotion both by end of August, 2018.
