Port Blair, Mar 16: A Bus driver of State Transport Department, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr. N Arunachalam Kumar, 40 years, died nearly 03 days ago, allegedly for driving long trips continuously for nearly 13 days and too much work pressure despite bad health.
As per reports, the Bus Driver was having around 10 years of driving experience in the busses of State Transport Department and the incident occurred when he felt uneasiness while he was driving the Bus from Bambooflat Bus Stand to Shoal Bay.
Sources said that anyhow the Conductor of the Bus then managed to drive the Bus to the PHC Wimberlygunj so that the Driver, N Arunachalam Kumar get immediate medical help.
As the condition of the driver became very critical till then, he was then referred by the Doctor of PHC Wimberlygunj to GB Pant Hospital but on his way towards the GB Pant Hospital the Driver died in the ambulance.
Many who are very close to the deceased allege that N Arunachalam Kumar was driving long trips since nearly two weeks and before his last trip, he had also informed the superiors that he is feeling uneasiness but even though his superiors reportedly forced him to drive, which resulted into such unfortunate incident.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted Dr. Navlendra Kr. Singh, the Director of Transport Department, he said that he himself had gone to the Hospital to meet the family members of the deceased and he also assured that a provisional job will be provided to the wife of the Late N Arunachalam Kumar.
