Port Blair, Mar 05: In a yet another example of good policing, the police team of Jirkatang and Middle Strait Check Post helped a resident of North Andaman to find his missing bag which was having good amount of cash.
According to reports, Mr. K Kurma Rao, belonging to the fishermen community of Diglipur was going towards Diglipur in 9.00 AM convoy of ATR. For some reasons he forgot his bag, with cash, inside a makeshift hotel near Jirkatang Check Post and came on the bus.
After reaching close to Middle Strait he realized that he has misplaced the bag and immediately he reported the matter to the police unit of Middle Strait. Taking swift action the matter was communicated to Jirkatang Check post, following which the team of Jirkatang Check post immediately traced out the bag. Mr. K Kurma Rao later reached Jirkatang Check post in 12.00 noon convoy after which police team handed over the missing bag, containing cash amount of Rs. 34,000 and some important documents. The timely action of police to help a remote Islander is highly appreciated by public.
