Port Blair, Feb 20: In the forenoon of 19.02.2018, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament, A & N Islands in presence of Mr. Shyamal Mondal, Parmukh Diglipur Panchayat Samiti, Mr. Subodh Mondal, Member Zilla Parishad, Smti Puspa Rani Mondal, Pradhan Kalighat Gram Panchayat, PRI Members and large numbers of villagers from Kalighat and Jagannath Dera village has laid foundation stone for construction of rural road for length of four kilometre from Kalighat to Jagannath Dera. An amount of Rs: 10.00 crores has been sanctioned from the UT Fund for construction said road. The villagers settled in 1963 have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. for fulfilling their long pending demands of road connectivity between Kalighat and Jagannath Dera. This is an earmarked achievement of BJP Government.
Further, in the evening of 19.02.2018, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. has also laid foundation stone for Construction Bridge at Paschim Sagar under the Central Road Fund(CRF). During the foundation stone laying ceremony of bridge at Paschim Sagar, Mr. Shyamal Mondal, Parmukh Diglipur Panchayat Samiti, Mr. Naren Mondal, Zilla Parishad Member, Smti Madhumala Roy, Pradhan, Paschim Sagr Gram Panchayat, PRIs Members and a large numbers of villagers including School Students , youth were also present. Due to non- availability of Bridge across the sea, the villagers including students, youth and farmers of Paschim Sagar since their settlement are facing untold hardship to approach the Diglipur.
