Port Blair, Feb 11: Large number of youths of Oralkatcha area of Baratang today protested against irregular supply of LPG by stopping the LPG cylinder distribution truck at Nilambur Jetty.
According to reports, the LPG distribution truck was going towards Diglipur from Port Blair, which was Gheraoed by the youths of Baratang area.
Public of the area complained that since a long time LPG cylinders have not been distributed between Kaichy area to Nilambur Jetty area despite protest staged by public nearly a month back.
Later after intervention of police unit of Baratang Police Station, the matter was resolved peacefully and the driver, who had gone away leaving the truck, was called back.
As per reports officials of IOC also spoke to protesting youths that a LPG truck will reach Baratang tomorrow and distribute LPG between Kaichy area to Nilambur Jetty area.
Meanwhile on the basis of complaint by the driver of the LPG distribution truck that some people have used abusive words for him during protest, an NC FIR has been lodged at PS Baratang against unknown persons.
