Addressing the press conference, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s State President today demanded that the recent gold loan scam in Andaman and Nicobar State Co-operative Bank should be investigated by the CBI or by some bigger agencies but not by local police.
Addressing journalists at the party’s state office today, Mr. Jolly said that the role of police investigating the gold loan scam was also suspicious. In this case 150 people are involved but all the cases have been merged into one case. Jolly demanded that all 150 people connected with this scam should have a different cases registered against them.
“The Gold loan scam is not worth only 17 crore but this amount is even more,” Jolly said.
He also warned the police and administration that if the case is not handed over to CBI within seven days and 150 separate cases are not registered, then the workers of Bhartiya Janta Party will be blocking the road in front of the head office of the Cooperative Bank.
Regarding Rose Valley Chit Fund case he demanding thorough inquiry in this matter.
He demanded that cases must be registered against the Rose Valley Company and the property of Rose Valley must be attached with this case. He said that as in West Bengal and other places efforts have been initiated to return the money of the people from these properties, similar efforts must be initiated here in Andaman too.
Regarding PRIs, he said that the PRI members are being constantly ignored by Administration. “They are being deprived of their rights. India is a democratic country, the authorities here need to work in a democratic way,” Jolly said.
He said that bridge work in Uttarra Jetty is progressing ahead in full swing and the construction of the bridge of Baratang will be started soon.
“Paper process for construction of bridge between Bambooflat and Chatham is in progress. Soon its work will also start,” Jolly added.
