Port Blair, Jan 24: Eighteen IAS trainee Officers of 2017 Batch, visited the Andaman and Nicobar Command from 23 Jan – 24 Jan 18 as part of their forward area tour. On their arrival they were briefed on the strategic dimensions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In order to understand the operational role of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, the officer trainees were also visited an Indian Naval Ship. The visit provided the IAS officer trainees an opportunity to appreciate the multi-faceted, unique and strategic aspects of the islands. It also helped them to get an insight into the ecological sensitivities while focusing on the developmental issues of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
