Port Blair, Jan 10: On Wednesday one of the Temporary Tsunami Shelters, which has been converted into quarter for teachers, at Mill Dera, Kapanga, area of Katchal suffered heavy damages. According to reports due to total lack of maintenance entire ceiling of quarter number 01 suddently came down along with fans and with wirings.
Troubled by the accidents when occupant of the quarter who was in the second room contacted the JE of the nearest site office, the JE instead of coming for immediate help asked the occupant to come all the way to Site office and register a written complaint.
The occupant allege that under such situation, when such accident occurred and entire house is in horrible shape how can someone leave the house and do paper works. Later when AE of the area was informed the AE showing responsibility immediately sent men to repair the house and control the situation.
Residents of the area allege that such negligent attitude of the JE concerned has left majority of the teachers of the area fuming. Sources added that the same JE often sent men to other quarter only over request over phone but even during accident, in this case, the matter was not attended, which shows height of irresponsibility.
