Port Blair, Jan 10: A Cargo Dinghy worker namely Deepak Soreng, a resident of Baratang, is missing at sea since yesterday morning at around 08:00am.
As per reports, a Cargo Dinghy left from Sippighat, Joda Kalan area on 08.01.2018 for Neil Island at 10:30pm and the dinghy was kept in anchor, somewhere in between Panighat and Madhuban region at night.
Sources said that the next day morning at 08:00 am when the master of the Dinghy started the Dinghy for Neil Island, Deepak Soreng who was standing on the back side of the Dinghy lost his balance and fell into the sea.
The other workers of the Dinghy reportedly threw ring buoy and life jacket in the sea to save their colleague but Deepak Soreng disappeared. The Dinghy operators then, after reaching to Neil Island at 02:00pm yesterday launched a missing complaint.
As per reports, Private Cargo Dinghy Operators are themselves searching the missing man at the Panighat- Madhuban region.
However when contacted sources in Coast Guard said that two Coast Guard boats were sent yesterday for search but there is no result. Meanwhile insiders also said that authorities are suspecting some foul play in this entire episode.
