Port Blair, Dec 27: Two days training programme was organized and conducted at Veterinary Dispensary Elephant Point, Department of AH & VS on Topic FEEDING OF GOATS BY LOCALLY AVAILABLE FOODER AND TREE LEAVES” in association with ATMA at Veterinary Dispensary Elephant Point on 18.12.2017 to 19.12.2017. The Programme inaugurated by Smti. PreethimaKumariTirkey, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Namunaghar as Chief Guest by lighting traditional lamp.
In her address, the Chief Guest Smti. Preethima Kumari Tirkey requested the participants to draw maximum advantage form the training ad adopt goat farming as livelihood. Dr. Subhash B Palve, Senior Veterinary Officer, Elephant Point organized the event and he also emphasized for adoption of goatery as strong option for livelihood due to its simple management, low space requirement and secure return with profit. He explained importance of goat farming and focused in details about different aspects of Goatery and conducted demonstration on handling of Goats for medication etc. Dr.Baljit Kaur, Senior Veterinary Officer, Senior Veterinary Officer, VH Wimberlygunj attended the programme and delivered lectures whereas Dr.KuldeepDawande, Senior Veterinary Officer also imparted the training. The programme concluded on 19.12.2017.
