Port Blair, Dec 26: On behalf of all Telugu community of A & N Islands, Andhra Association, Port Blair had organized the First Ever Blood Donation Camp in connection with Makara Sankranti 2018 Celebrations and with support of A & N AIDS Control Society and Blood Bank, GB Pant Hospital on Saturday, 23.12.2017 at Andhra Association Hall, Port Blair.
On this day, Dr. M. Joy, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society, Port Blair was the Chief Guest and Dr. K. Snehaa, MBBS, Microbiology and Mr. P. Nagesh Rao, SDE, BSNL, Port Blair were the Guest of Honours.
In his address the Chief Guest encouraged the blood donors to come forward and donate blood for this noble cause and save valuable lives and also congratulated the association for this type of programmes.
Earlier, Mr. B. Mohan Rao, President, Andhra Association welcomed the Chief Guest and gathering. Mr. B. Ramakrishna, General Secretary, Andhra Association distributed the Certificates alongwith Thanks Cards to the Blood Donors.
Large number of blood donors from all walks of life actively participated in this programme including women donors. All together 65 Units were collected by the Staff of Blood Bank.
Finally, the programme concluded by vote of thanks by Mr. S.Balakrishna, Joint Secretary-cum-Coordinator of this programme.
