Port Blair, Dec 24: The Chief Port Administrator of Port Management Board has said that the Bus Services that was provided inside the Phoenix Bay Jetty by Private Boat Operators was withdrawn considering safety of passengers inside Jetty complex.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Chief Port Administrator, Port Management Board, Dr RD Tripathi said that the Harbour area is not wide and hence plying of buses inside the campus is not suitable. He added that only 10% of the passenger were seen interested to go by the Bus.
Dr Tripathi further added that it was also noticed by PMB that the drivers of the Buses were driving buses in high speed even when the speed limit should not exceed 10-20 kilometer per hour inside harbour area.
