Baratang, Dec 20: A van hired by National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) met with an accident at Bolcha, Baratang while going towards Adajig from South Creek. As per reports, after jumping a pothole the spring leaf of the van broke, following which the Van tilted. The NHIDCL has responsibility of repairing ATR, a task, which is not being done professionally in Andaman, leading to several minor accidents every week. However today, the NHIDCL hired van suffered damages on the road, which is being maintained by NHIDCL itself.
Including the driver there were five people onboard the Van. As per details two among these five people, who were standing on the rear side suffered minor injuries. The Baratang Police Unit has challaned an amount of Rs 1100/- against the van in this regard.
